How might I create a private label coffee program pitch deck for Mr. Espresso and NBA legend Gary Payton?

Design a multi-step, yet simplified process that allows Mr. Espresso to walk new clients through proofing, printing, and production of coffee products.

First Draft

How it Started

Initially, the parameters for this project were too open-ended. I was asked to build a pitch deck for Mr. Espresso's private label coffee program, with minimal reference. After extensive research, I chose to interpret story of Carlo Di Ruocco (Mr. Espresso himself) and his journey towards making a premiere coffee company based in Oakland. So, I included design elements that emphasized the specialized niche of oak wood fired coffee roasting that Mr. Espresso built its reputation on.

Design-wise, I paired my research with a presentation that was clean and easy to follow, utilizing simple layouts, minimal text, and eye-catching graphics.

How it Evolved

After the Di Ruocco's and the current Mr. Espresso owners saw my presentation, they gave me more specific guidelines that they wanted me to follow. First, they asked me to adjust the aspect ratio of the slides to be more presentation friendly. Next, they wanted to incorporate more of their in-house branding, telling me to draw inspiration from an old presentation they used to use to pitch their company. Finally, they wanted me to fledge out the story of Mr. Espresso more than before, while still leaving in the steps Chris and I proposed in order to land Gary Payton as a client.

Below is the final presentation.
